Amazing Dog Tricks!
The idea of dogs doing amazing things is a wonderful thing to research and write about. This post today is going to contain plenty of videos and stories about amazing dog tricks and I am hoping you can help me add to the list of the wonderful things dogs are capable of. The whole idea for this post was sparked by reading a single article sent to me and I would like to thank Annie for not only writing the story but emailing it to me as well! I really hope you enjoy this post and I strongly encourage you to send me pictures of your dogs doing amazing things, and leave me a comment with the tricks your dog performs!!
First things first, have you ever seen a dog playing soccer?? The article sent to me by Annie was incredibly interesting. It talked about a father whose son dies; he is left feeling empty and makes huge changes in his life. He ends up moving to Huntington Beach and makes a strong connection with some very special dogs. His son absolutely loved playing soccer, the only problem was that he would not practice alone. The father thought if he could teach a dog to play soccer, then his son would have someone to practice with. His son died before the father could follow through with the idea, but now his idea is coming to life.
The father bought a Border Collie, and began training it to play soccer. The Collie named in honor of his son learned how to dribble the ball with her nose, and shoot with her shoulder. The father has since bought twin Border Collies to play goalie and defense. It sounds a little hard to believe that dogs can be taught not only to play soccer, but to master different positions, but it is true! To read the rest of the story click here!

Many people teach their dogs tricks, and while I was searching for videos displaying amazing tricks, I came across such a wide variety of the, it was incredibly hard to pick which ones I wanted to show you. One of the videos I chose shows Border Collies performing various tricks (some very easy, others - like one amazing feat in particular, are incredibly difficult). Be sure to watch this video all the way through, and pay close attention around 1:11 - you will see something I have NEVER seen a dog do, and I am 100% sure it took plenty of training to get it just perfect!
I also came across a story about a lady who owns a Doberman Pinscher named Donnie. Donnie has a weird personality quirk - he does strange things with his chew toys. He places them in circles in the backyard, even has some of them holding hands! He knows the difference between the toys and I saw a picture of the “Frog Triangle” in which Donnie takes his frog toys and places them in a triangle. There are two things I would like you to check out relating to this story:
The next video I selected features a dog performing in front of a large crowd. It looks like a fair of some type, and the dog is performing with a trainer and Frisbees. The very last thing the dog does is completely amazing - BACK FLIPS!
Finally, I have a set of two videos. They are both of a Bull Mastiff and the owner. The owner is giving the dog different commands on tricks she wants him to perform. The dog is very smart and performs rarely seen tricks (sneezing on command is just one example). The last trick the owner tries to get him to perform is saying the word “moma” in the first video the dog does not succeed, but the second video features the same dog opening a gate, and performing the final trick!
