Amazing Cat Tricks!

January 14th, 2008 by dsheffler

My post on Friday was all about dog tricks, today I am going to focus completely on feline tricks! You would be surprised to know how many cats are actually trained to perform various tricks. It was rather interesting, and I was very surprised to see how easily that cats can be trained to follow direction and know the difference between many words. I know my recent posts have been lacking in the cat department, so I am hoping to make up for it with this one. As with the dog tricks post, I have found and included several videos for your enjoyment! Be sure to send your pictures to: dsheffler@petstrong.com

Also be sure to leave me a comment - pictures and comments will be added to this post as soon as they are approved!!

Now, let’s get down to business and start off with a great video featuring a talented cat rolling over and jumping through a hoop! ENJOY!!

This next video is one I am sure you will enjoy! It astounded me the tricks owners were able to teach their cats, the cats were learning “dog tricks” such as sit, roll over, and play dead (featured in this clip)!

The thing that seemed to jump out at me about cat tricks is that the cats were responding to one word commands and seemed to absolutely love the attention it was getting them! I have always thought cats were solitary creatures who preferred to be on their own, but these videos really prove me wrong! Cats enjoy being alone, but they are great companions!!

This final video was my favorite, and if you have ever doubted how smart a cat is, you absolutely MUST watch this video! There are some humans who would have difficulty with this one that’s for sure!

I hope all of you enjoyed my post today - please leave me your comments or suggestions I would love to hear them!! This post is for all the cat lovers and owners out there! Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading about (and seeing) all the tricks you have taught your cats!!

Thanks for reading! As always your participation in comments and discussions are encouraged and greatly appreciated!!
