DogPause Dog Bowl - Enter to Win!
Obesity is a huge problem for humans and it is becoming more and more prevalent in our animal companions. I have done a few posts on this topic because I think overeating (and overfeeding) our pets is a big problem. Today my post is going to be a little different, I am going to talk about a new product called the DogPause dog bowl and the wonderful things it can do to help your pet stay healthy! At the end of this post you will find details on how you can win your very own DogPause dog bowl!
Feeding and caring for your dog are the most important parts of your dog’s health and nutrition. There are many factors that are critical when feeding your dog:
1. Type of food: this choice is up to you and your vet. They may recommend certain foods to you and it is important to listen to their advice.
2. Portion control: vets and clinical researchers agree that you should avoid feeding your dog more than 2 cups of food in a single feeding. Too much food can cause digestive problems and the risk of obesity and bad eating habits will increase. Dogs will eat anything that is put in front of them - this is the reason why free feeding does not work! For this reason, it is good to have a dog bowl that only holds one or two cups of food. This will help develop solid portion control habits and will build good eating habits over time.
3. Feeding frequency: feeding your dog two or three times per day is much better than feeding once. When you divide the meal time, you are reducing the amount of food per meal time and the digestive activity of your dog will become balanced.
4. Speed of eating: as most of you already know, you put food in front of your dog and minutes later it is gone! Dogs will literally inhale their food, gulping it down as fast as they can. If your dog eats his meal in less than 5 minutes, you need to slow him down. By eating slower your dog will be able to benefit from the nutrients in the food. Dogs that eat fast can overwhelm their digestive systems by swallowing large amounts of food quickly. Eating slower will also help reduce the risk of eating disorders such as bloat (which can be fatal). Fast eating is also related to gagging, choking, vomiting, flatulence (gas), and belching. These are not necessarily health risks, but they do indicate digestive distress - which will be minimized by slower eating.

DogPause dog bowl. The bowl is incredibly sturdy and consists of 4 different sections. It is designed to force your dog to slow down and enjoy his food! The compartments are also perfect for portion control. In a clinical trial conducted at an independent kennel and overseen by clinical research vets, the DogPause dog bowl was compared to a normal, open bowl feeder. The trial was conducted across three breeds: Labs, Rottweilers, and Pointers. The results are absolutely astounding!
The DogPause dog bowl slowed down the rate of eating by all dogs in the test by an average of over 50%! For example: if a dog’s average eating speed is 72 seconds, using the DogPause dog bowl his eating time would be about 108 seconds on average.
I have to say, I am 100% sold on this product! It is great for owners whose dogs eat fast - the DogPause dog bowl makes them slow down and enjoy their food! The bowl is very cute with a dog’s face in the center of the sections. If you have a fast eating dog, the DogPause dog bowl is an absolute most!Check out the video below to see for yourself:I want to thank everyone on the DogPause team for sending me information on their product and for providing me with two DogPause dog bowls to give away!
