Humane Society Rescues Nearly 1,000 Puppy Mill Victims
This past weekend, the Humane Society undertook a massive rescue effort - one that ended in freeing nearly 1,000 breeding dogs and puppies from a puppy mill in West Virginia.
I watched their exclusive video which was shot at the Whispering Oaks Kennel (sounds sweet, right? Wrong.). Some of the dogs in the video were barely one day old. It was very sad to hear the volunteers and rescuers talk about the scene inside the puppy mill. The stench of ammonia was overwhelming and to see all those poor, defenseless animals in that little space was heart-wrenching.
The humane society staff has set up an emergency shelter, and they are working with local authorities and other animal rescue organizations to ensure these animals get the love and medical care they need. Placement of the dogs into humane organizations has already begun and soon they will be available for adoption into permanent homes.

When you are finished watching the video, I strongly encourage you to make a donation to the Humane Society by visiting my Donate page.
Thanks for reading! As always your participation in comments and discussions are encouraged and greatly appreciated!

I can’t stand puppy mills. They are so sickening.
