Traveling with Your Pet!

September 23rd, 2008 by dsheffler

Some of us, no matter how hard we try, just can’t leave our pets at home. We have to take them with us wherever we go! When traveling with your pet, it is important to remember that they have different needs than we do. For example, they may need to use the restroom frequently (especially if you have a new puppy or older dog). It is also helpful to get them out of the car every so often so they are able to stretch and disperse some of their extra energy.

Last year, I went on a cruise for vacation, and I do not recall there being a “pet sitting” service on board, but I guarantee it won’t be long before that shows up! It is already fairly common to see dogs on airplanes, so I am just taking a wild guess and saying that cruise ships will be the next place to see doggy day care!

It is important to remember that you can take your pets just about anywhere in the world. They usually enjoy the trip as much as we do - there are all kinds of new and exciting smells for them, so grab your passport and enjoy your trip!

    Love your site.
At our peak we had 5 cats but none of them enjoyed travelling, apart from Dulcie who takes everything in her stride. But even she gets a bit scared in strange surroundings.
As a result, over the years we have had various adventures and mishaps, but things have always turned out ok in the end.
