Put Your Medication Away!

September 25th, 2008 by dsheffler

This may seem like common sense to most of us, but some people still think it is okay to leave medications (such as prescription medication as well as over the counter medication - including alli).

It is hard to believe, but your pets will get into anything and everything you leave laying out.  It doesn’t matter to them what it is, they will eat it.  Most products may not be immediately harmful to them, but there are some products that could have a very serious impact on their health.  You need to be careful and pay close attention to what you leave laying around.  Make sure caps are on snugly, and put them in an area of the house where your dog or cat will not be able to get into them.

I know it might sound crazy…but it wouldn’t hurt to but those child-locks on your cabinets either.  You would be surprised how smart cats and dogs are when it comes to figuring out how to open them.

If you suspect your pet has ingested something dangerous, please call your veterinarian at once.  A simply stomach pump could save your pet’s life!
