The Housing Market and Your Pets

The housing market is getting worse and worse. It seems like every day the market is flooded with new homes as homeowners are being foreclosed on. In the middle of all this confusion and turmoil are your pets. There are more and more pet victims of the foreclosure crisis every single day.

Pets are being taken to shelters, Humane Societies, and rescue groups around the country as their owners are forced to relocate, or forced to cut their spending. For one small example, take a look at this Wilmington NC real estate website. Look at how many homes they have available to people.

It may not always be logical for you to take your pets with you if you are moving, but you should make sure you take them to a known shelter in your area.  You should not leave them on the streets to face almost certain death.  Giving up a pet is one of the hardest things a family will ever have to do but if you are no longer able to provide for them , you do not have a choice.
