Great Dog Houses!
With winter pretty much biting at our heels – you need to be thinking about what kind of shelter you have for your outside dog! You can think about making your own dog house, or you can purchase one. Whichever way you choose, there are certain things you need to include to make sure it is warm and comfortable for your dog!
Make sure you have a food and water dish for your dog inside the dog house. When the temperature starts to fall below freezing, make sure he has fresh water every day and the he doesn’t have a solid block of ice. Also, check the food every day to make sure it is still good and not contaminated with insects.
The floor of the dog house should be padded and be comfortable for your dog to sleep on. Include several layers of blankets or chair cushions as padding, and you can even line the walls of the dog house with flannel blankets to help keep the winter chill out.
If you had a dog house last year, please make sure it is still large enough for your dog. If your dog has grown, it may be time to get a new dog house. He should fit comfortably in and out, and not have any problems turning around once inside.
Be sure to take time to do a thorough roof cleaning, and check the outside of the dog house to make sure it doesn’t have any cracks or holes.

Since winter is coming a heated dog house is much preferable than other type of dog houses because a heated dog house can give the proper warmth that our pets needed this coming winter.
