Benefits of Pomegranate Juice
December 31st, 2008 by dsheffler
Pomegranate trees can provide many comforts to us humans - such as shade, beautiful flowers and fruit - but did you know it has benefits for your pets as well? I had no idea this fruit could be so healthy for our pets. Today, I would like to share with you a few things pomegranates can be used for.
- Bleeding gums: If your pet suffers from bleeding gums and has no abnormalities in their kidney or liver, the cause may be a mild bacterial infection. Take the rind of the pomegranate, dry it off, powder it finely, then mix the rind powder with a pinch of salt and pepper. You can take a small amount of this powder and apply it on the bleeding gums every day. It is very useful in strengthening the gums and preventing them from bleeding.
- Upset stomach/diarrhea: Give your pet 30-60 ml of pomegranate juice twice every day. The juice will help soothe the stomach and enable it to heal gently.
- Heartburn:Â If your pet suffers from heartburn try giving him pomegranate juice mixed with equal parts honey - use one tablespoon every day.
