Diesel FOUND a Home!
I haven’t had the most privileged of lives for being the stunning guy that I am. For the first two years of my life, I lived in the woods with a bunch of other homeless friends, scrounging for food at the back of a trailer park and having to search for clean water and sleeping outside no matter how cold or wet it was. One day these nice humans appeared and collected us all up ( some of us were pretty quick and gave them a run for their money but they did end up catching all of us) and brought us back to the shelter where I live now. I have lived in the same kennel for almost four years. When I first got here I stayed pretty much to myself, I was pretty afraid of all of the humans that were around so I just stayed in the inside corner of my kennel to be safe.
There were people that came to meet me and I heard them talking about me and how beautiful I was but they said they couldn’t take me home because they didn’t know what my personality was like because I wouldn’t come out to meet them. Over the years though I have become more comfortable and I even have a roommate who is my good buddy. I come and greet everyone now and everyone loves me. I love to be taken on walks and I really just get along with everyone including the other dogs and people and I am even good with the kitties.
Unfortunately, I overheard some talk that my buddy (who has been here for as long as I have) is finally going to his forever home. I guess that means that I will be all by myself now. I wish they could take me too, but I guess I am too big for their apartment. I hear that a lot. I don’t feel that big. I am only about 75 pounds and I don’t need much room. I can be a couch potato or I can play in the yard with my stuffed animals. I don’t require much, I mostly just love to be petted and given attention. I wonder if I will stay here forever. I hope not. I will be waiting for the day when I hear someone say “please get Diesel ready, he’s coming home with us”.
If you are interested in adopting Diesel, please leave me a comment or send me an email (dsheffler@petstrong.com). I would love to see him go to a great home!
