Do Your Cats Claw Your Blinds?
I know a few people who have this problem all the time with their cats. Not only do they like to claw at the blinds, they also enjoy batting the cord too. Is there anything you can do to stop them? I think there are many good deterrents - things that will reduce the amount of time your cat will want to spend scratching up your Bamboo Blinds.
What is the first thing you can do? Well, make sure your cat has access to a scratching post. This is very important and could be one of the main reasons why your cat is scratching at the blinds. Also, you should check to make sure he has plenty of toys to play with. Boredom could be another reason for scratching at the blinds.
Maybe your cat is just curious about what is behind the blinds. Try leaving them half way up during the day so your cat can see what is going on outside. In order to prevent him playing with the cord, just make sure it is up high enough where he cannot reach it.
