The Honest Weblog Award
A HUGE thank you to my friends at ThoughtsFurPaws – they have awarded PetStrong the Honest Scrap Award!
Here’s how the award works:
“When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real. Choose a minimum of seven (7) blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have seven (7) friends. Show the seven (7) random victims’ names and links and leave a comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, really, but they can keep the nifty icon. Next, in your blog, list at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!”
Ten Honest things about myself:
1. Right now I am working full-time (40 hours per week) and am blogging on the side.
2. I first had the idea for my blog almost 2 years ago – and pretty much the only reason it became a reality is because of my boyfriend.
3. I have read lots and lots of books on animal psychology, behavior, training, and breeds. So I pretty much consider myself an expert!
4. I have had animals all my life – everything including parakeets, guinea pigs, gerbils, cats, and dogs.
5. The last pet I had, a black lab/Newfoundland named Jasmine had to be put down. She was 15 years old and in constant pain every day. This was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.
6. I am not sure what breed of dog I would select for my next pet. I have a few different options: Miniature Pinscher and Boston Terrier to name a couple.
7. I have had big dogs all my life. An Irish Setter, a purebred Newfoundland, and the Black Lab/Newfoundland mix.
8. I have never purchased a puppy from a pet store – and I never will!
9. I have volunteered at my local Humane Society – I think it was very worthwhile (even though the most fun I had was washing out litter boxes), and I would recommend adopting from a shelter to anyone.
10. I will do anything in my power to promote adoption, and I dedicate my blog to helping pet owners, and pets around the country.
I am passing this award on to:
4. Paw Talk
5. Stop the Greyhound Slaughter
6. Dogster
7. Joe Stains
Thanks again to ThoughtsFurPaws for giving us this award!
