Airplane Travel With Your Pet

If you live in the San Diego area and are planning on flying out of their airport, it is important to find a San Diego airport hotel that is able to accommodate both you and your pet.  You need to find somewhere your pet will be comfortable because flying can be extremely stressful on your animal.  Make sure your hotel room is a nice temperature and be sure to continue your daily routine (such as walks, feeding time, etc.) to keep her relaxed.

Animals are normally not allowed in the cabin and must be stored with the cargo which can be a very scary experience.  It is dark and it is a place where your pet has no idea where she is – think about how you would be in that situation.  I’m sure we can all agree that it could be pretty frightening.  The plane ride will seem like it lasts forever and your pet will be glad to be out of the cargo hold.  Once she are out, the first thing you should do is take her for a walk as she will probably need to relieve herself.  Prepare for the flight by talking with your veterinarian so you know what type of behavior to expect from your pet as well as what will happen at the airport.  Once you have everything discussed and you feel comfortable flying with your pet will be a piece of cake!
