Opening a Pet Store
With the economy in a downward spiral – it makes sense that more and more people are turning to opening their own businesses, or striking out on their own to make some extra money. Although pets are still being dropped off at shelters in record numbers, pet owners are still spending money on their pets. I have not cut down on the amount of treats, toys, and misc. stuff I have bought for Maggie.
If you are thinking about opening up your own pet store, you need to decide whether you want to open one up online, or if you want a physical store. There are pros and cons to each one, it just depends on how much investing money you have at your disposal. With a physical store, you have to purchase such things as POS systems, physical inventory, rent, etc.
If you are thinking about an online store, things can be much easier for you. You should be able to find a drop-shipper (this would eliminate physical inventory).
Anyone already have a pet store of some kind? What worked for you?
