Enjoy Walking With Your Dog!

June 4th, 2009 by dsheffler

I have been taking Maggie on regular walks for the past three days and I have to say that she is really enjoying that time.  Since adopting her, she has really come out of her shell and she is starting to get hyper at night.  Taking a 30 minute walk with her helps drain some of her excess energy and she is sleeping better and all the way through the night!

When you are walking your dog, you need to make sure you have comfortable shoes on. Dansko shoes are incredibly comfortable and give your feet great support while you are walking.  The other thing you need is comfortable clothing - you should always dress for the weather!  If it’s hot outside, wear shorts and a loose fitting tee shirt or tank top.  If you are planning on going for a long walk (more than 10 minutes), bring a bag so you can clean up after your dog, and for really long walks (especially ones on a hot day), make sure your dog has water to drink.

Hey there.. how are you getting along with Maggie pulling on the leash? Still a lot or does she no longer pull?

We bought a pinch collar for Hunter and a lead for Bella.. they both walk much much better now.. and of course.. I roller blade with them.. so they’re allowed to pull then :P
