Dangers to Your Pets

I cannot stress enough how important it is to keep your house “pet safe” – many pets become ill or die every year because they have ingested something left out by their owners.  Some of the many things pets can eat would be chocolate, a diet pill, cosmetics, and cleaning supplies. Just like you would “baby proof” your home, you should also be careful to “pet proof” your home. The less you have sitting out within your pet’s reach, the less likely she is to eat them.

Before you bring your new dog home, be sure to take a tour of your house through your dog’s eyes.  Make sure you are checking cords, electrical outlets, and anything within your pet’s reach.  By doing this beforehand, you will be able to make your home a safe, enjoyable environment for your new family member!

Another danger to your dog or cat could be as simple as the food you are currently feeding!

As my husband and I discovered, we were unknowingly feeding our dogs and cat harmful chemicals by products, corn, wheat and gluten. The food we used for years is not alone. Just about any of the commercial dog foods and treats out there are filled with hard to digest ingredients (corn, wheat, soy, gluten, cancer causing preservatives BHA/Ethoxiquin, dyes/coloring), being passed off as “premium” foods. How can manufacturers get away with this? Poor regulations.

If you have a pet with allergies…..I can suggest options.
