Is the Economy Any Better?

September 29th, 2009 by dsheffler

A few months ago, I talked about how the rate of foreclosures was effecting household pets.  It seems to me that the housing market has picked up somewhat - and things are not as bad as they used to be.  Our pets are an important part of our lives, and it’s important to remember them when making any type of budget cuts in your house.

More and more banks are going under, and with it - many people’s financial security.  If you are having banking problems with your private placement memorandum, or you are just having a hard time making ends meet…contact your local Humane Society and see if they can point you in the right direction to get assistance. It’s now more common to see a pet food pantry - you can stop in to one of those and pick up your dog or cat food, and some veterinary offices offer reduced rates under certain circumstances.

  1. All My Pet Supplies

I volunteer at my local human society and we have seen a lot more animals come into the shelter since the economy. It is a very sad for the animals and owners a like. I would like to see more done to keep pets in their homes such as discounted food from these major companies. Just a thought! Great article!

Hopefully with the economy picking up people will rescue more animals from shelters instead of going to the breeders.
