Wintertime Exercise With Your Pet
Now that the weather is starting to turn chilly, you may find it harder to get outside with your pet and get her the exercise she needs. I know with Maggie, I am concerned that she will not be able the cold weather and the snow. Here in Missouri it gets really cold, and our winters are usually very icy and snowy. I think I’m going to have to break down and at least buy her a sweater of some kind to keep her warm. Since she is a Beagle, her hair is very short and not really made for cold climates.
I know it’s going to be hard for me to get up and take her for a walk when it’s so cold outside (I’m not a fan of cold weather either), but she has really benefited from her twice daily walks, and they have been a great way for me to exercise too. Exercise and being on a weight loss diet will help keep you in shape - even through those winter months. If your pet is not made for cold weather, there are ways you can exercise your pet indoors. One way you can do this is by training your dog to walk on a treadmill (with your supervision). How do you get your pet the exercise they need in the wintertime? Please leave your comments below.
Thanks for reading! We’ll bark at you later!
