Tear Stains Under Your Dog’s Eyes

December 14th, 2009 by dsheffler

Some breeds of dogs are prone to getting dark circles under their eyes known as “tear stains”. These can be pretty disgusting looking, and can attract bugs and other insects if left unclean.  Maggie does get minor staining under her eyes, and I just have to make sure that I use a clean tissue or napkin every day to clean those streaks from under her eyes.

Dogs that are white in color are especially prone to getting dark stains, but these can be taken care of with a clean napkin once or twice per day!

Thanks for reading!  We’ll bark at you later!

You are very lucky that a napkin suffices for maggie.

Like many other owners I have to use a food additive to prevent the staining (Angels Delight by Bichon Hotel).
