Walking Your Dog in the Winter

Maggie goes on two walks each day, and we just got about 3 inches of snow here in Missouri, so she has been having a blast going outside in the snow!  We live in a secluded neighborhood that does not even get plowed when it snows.  If you take your dog on walks when there is snow on the ground, there are a few things you need to know.

If the roads are treated with a chemical solution, you need to make sure your dog has clean paws when coming inside.  If she licks this solution off her paws, she could become seriously ill.  Also make sure that the area you are walking your dog is safe for her.  Make sure it isn’t too slippery, and that the snow isn’t too deep.

We wipe Maggie’s paws off every time she comes back into the house and we make sure that she isn’t out there too long so she doesn’t get sick.  If you have something dirty, try using an Anilox roll cleaner to get it clean.

Thanks for reading!  We’ll bark at you later!
