Have You Seen Pit Boss?
Today I watched an interesting show that airs on Animal Planet. It’s called Pit Boss, and is about a group of people who rescue Pit Bulls in Hollywood, CA. The episode I saw today had them hosting a car wash in order to raise money for their rescue operation and they also held an adoption event. It’s interesting to me to see people so passionate about a highly misunderstood breed. Pit Bulls have gotten a bad rap the past 5 years or more and it’s wonderful to see people willing to step up for this breed. I am a firm believer that while some breeds can be more dangerous than others, the bulk of how they act and react to people is in their training and their environment. Dogs that have been neglected can become mistrustful of humans and can act very wary around them.
I highly recommend watching an episode of Pit Boss just so you can have a better understanding of the breed and it will also show you how loving these dogs can truly be. I have a friend who owns two Pit Bulls, a female named Sugar, and a male named Cain. These dogs can be very intimidating at first glance, but they are incredibly loveable dogs. They act like they are pint-size and try to get in your lap and love on you – they are just adorable dogs.
